We just updated our support page on how to create floor plans yourself. We have some great options, and subscribers can upload plan images and use them for FREE, or use the drawing tool for just $10 a listing.
We are pleased to announce that Subscribers to our virtual tour system now have the ability to draw their own floor plans and add them to their tour, the flyer and printable plan within minutes. You can come back and edit them at any time. Plus, you can generate 2D and 3D images of the plans within your account on demand, just like this image!
Super Easy, Amazing Results
The drawing tool is easy to use and great for people that have their own person drawing plans (like an appraiser) or can get access to an appraisal from the seller or a marketing brochure. Just scan or take a photo of the source document and upload the image as a template for tracing the plan footprint. Then add in interior walls and features. Use it as a virtual staging tool by adding furniture, rugs, flooring types or even landscape details. Then generate a 3D image. You can even export a 3D model to use in Sketch-up or even get a 3D model printed, great for a closing gift.
Just $10 a Plan!
This feature is available as a $10 per tour upgrade for any subscriber to the FloorPlanOnline TourProducer Subscription program. If you are not a subscriber, you can convert by going to Edit Profile and selecting the Change Membership Plan button. Note, we do provide full service floor plan services for subscribers too…so if you do not have a plan sketch or do not want to deal with it, we can do it for you. Subscribers save $30 off the regular price for this full service option.
Office or Company Deal
Looking for a feature-packed virtual tour/listing marketing system for your whole office or company? Let’s Talk! We can offer our subscription system for your whole office or company – one account manages all sub accounts, and each agent can have their own personalized account. Plus, with our new tool to embed the tour into a WordPress powered website (or other sites that support javascript), our marketing system gets more buyers coming to your website with floor plans, keeps them ON YOUR site longer, and converts them into buyers. Don’t forget, our tool is a great listing tool too – use our iPad tour to showcase on the device or even on an Apple TV!

We now have a Craigslist posting tool that allows you to easily post an electronic flyer into Craigslist. It has a prominent Virtual Tour button as well, to capture the user’s attention and prompt them to view the tour. Note, currently, there is only one template and it does not include the floor plan. We are leaving that for display on the tour itself.
To use the tool, we suggest you first login to Craigslist. If you do not have an account, you can create one at craigslist.org. Then, login to FloorPlanOnline, go to Manage Tours, then click the link for Photos & Marketing Tools. Scroll down to the bottom and look for the button that looks like this.
Then simply copy and paste the html code for the flyer into a Craigslist ad and follow the directions to confirm your ad on Craigslist.
The button will only show for active, published tours. So you will need to approve and publish your tour first before you go through this process.
We would like to get some feedback on the tool, and what else you would like to see. Please leave a comment or send us an email using the from below.

We have made a few requested updates to the Tabbed Tour viewer. The Tabbed Tour viewer is a template option for your tours, either when you create a new tour (or go to Edit Details) or in your proile. It is also the default viewer when you view the tour content on an iPad.
Several changes were made, as follows:
Default Media View
Now, when you select the default media to be the FloorPlan, Video or Photos, that selection will work for the Tabbed Tour. Previously, it only worked on the 2.0 Web Page Tour. The Dashboard view for the Tabbed Tour is the Home Tab.
For the Unbranded Tour, we also removed the top Header, so there is no contact info showing (previously it showed our branding). One little fix to be done is add the Address to the Details tab, since that was showing up in the header. That will be fixed in the next day or so.
Embedded and Side by Side FloorPlan Views for Interactive Floor Plan Tours
Both the Tabbed Tour and the Web Page tour now support two floor plans views. The default is the photos side by side the floorplan. However, you can now click the icon next to change view, and it changes to the embedded plan view. Here you can move the image around and zoom in on the floor plan so it fills the whole content area. This is helpful for very large and wide floor plans that might have had issues.
To use the tabbed tour for any of your tours, just go to Manage Tours, then click Edit Details for a tour. Select the Tabbed Tour as the Tour Frame Type at the top of the page. If you want to use this for all of your tours going forward, go to Edit Profile and make the selection. Next time you create a tour, it will default to that view. To default to the floor plan view for any or all of your tours, scroll down to the section titled Content Display Options and select the desired content under Show by Default. You can do this on the Edit Details page or Edit Profile page.
At this time we have depreciated the Facebook app because of lack of use and required development changes. If you want to post your tour to Facebook, simply copy and past the virtual tour URL to your Facebook business or personal page, add some intro text, and post. Facebook will automatically pull back an image and some marketing text.
If you have a Facebook business page, you can then boost the post – buy a paid ad and push that out to a certain area using Facebooks ad platform. Just know that this would be considered a “Fair Housing” special ad category, and as such, they have removed a lot of targeting capabilities, like target by job title or a speciic zip code. You can target by a city, just not a specific zip code.
We recently launched our iPad tour design that is a complete re-write of our code, specifically for the iPad. It utilizes what is called HTML5 and features a complete interactive floor plan where you can point and click your way through the property using your iPad. If you have an iPad, just type in one of your tour links into Safari and see how it looks. Or just use our demo house address of www.111anystreet.com.
Now, we are pleased to announce you can also use this same design as your PC/laptop tour viewer! To select this as your tour template, just select the Tabbed Tour as your tour frame type on the form as you create a new tour, or on Edit Details for existing tours. If you want this as your default tour frame going forward, just edit your profile and select the Tabbed Tour as your default tour frame.
To get a peak at the Tabbed Tour, click the screen shot below or click here to see how it will look. It is similar to the iPad tour with a clean design, but for the PC, it does feature a header at the top of the tour that always shows your contact info, as well as the tour tile and address. In addition, the content area adjusts for the user’s screen. For example, if someone has a laptop that has a typical resolution of 1280×800, the tour adjusts to fit it. If a user has a 23 inch 1920×1080 monitor, the tour adjusts for that size as well! If the user’s computer or device supports Adobe’s Flash, we still show the content in flash, otherwise it does use HTML5 (like for the iPad).
Not only is the design clean and simple, it is a great solution for listings with very large floor plans as well! The floor plan area is much larger, and because it does adjust to the screen resolution, it can make the floor plan look very large. In addition, we are working to add another way to look at the floor plan to show it in the whole content area, with the photos popping on top of the plan, just by clicking a button on the tour. We call this the embedded view, and we hope to add it to this view in the next month or so.
We hope you enjoy these enhancements. As always, this view is available for all active tours.
