Tabbed Tour Updates

Tabbed Tour Updates

We have made a few requested updates to the Tabbed Tour viewer. The Tabbed Tour viewer is a template option for your tours, either when you create a new tour (or go to Edit Details) or in your proile. It is also the default viewer when you view the tour content on an iPad.

Several changes were made, as follows:

Default Media View

Now, when you select the default media to be the FloorPlan, Video or Photos, that selection will work for the Tabbed Tour.  Previously, it only worked on the 2.0 Web Page Tour.  The Dashboard view for the Tabbed Tour is the Home Tab.

For the Unbranded Tour, we also removed the top Header, so there is no contact info showing (previously it showed our branding).  One little fix to be done is add the Address to the Details tab, since that was showing up in the header.  That will be fixed in the next day or so.

Embedded and Side by Side FloorPlan Views for Interactive Floor Plan Tours

Both the Tabbed Tour and the Web Page tour now support two floor plans views.  The default is the photos side by side the floorplan.  However, you can now click the icon next to change view, and it changes to the embedded plan view.  Here you can move the image around and zoom in on the floor plan so it fills the whole content area.  This is helpful for very large and wide floor plans that might have had issues.

To use the tabbed tour for any of your tours, just go to Manage Tours, then click Edit Details for a tour.  Select the Tabbed Tour as the Tour Frame Type at the top of the page.  If you want to use this for all of your tours going forward, go to Edit Profile and make the selection.  Next time you create a tour, it will default to that view.  To default to the floor plan view for any or all of your tours, scroll down to the section titled Content Display Options and select the desired content under Show by Default.  You can do this on the Edit Details page or Edit Profile page.

Enjoy!

New Marketing Center

New Marketing Center

We are pleased to announce the release of our new Marketing Center layout, which is the centerpiece for how you quickly and easily get access to your FloorPlanOnline Interactive Floor Plan | Video content, both for online and offline use.

The new marketing center more logically lays out the placement of web links to your Interactive Floor Plan Tours or Video Tours, buttons for downloadable content, such as photos, your flyer or various file formats for your floor plans, and it includes quick access to xpressdocs so you can print your marketing flyers and brochures through xpressdocs and even import the images our photographers take to xpressdocs to use their 1, 2 or 4 page brochures or “Just Listed Postcards”

It also more directly shows you how to set up our Featured Listing app on your Facebook business page and more!

I would like to thank the FPO Dev team in making this new release a reality!

As part of this, we and xpressdocs are offering a 20% discount on your xpressdocs order before June 30th.  To see the coupon code, visit our Facebook page, click the Big Sale image and Like Us, and you will then see the coupon.

One other small improvement.   All of our modern tour templates (excludes the 1.0) now has 2 floor plan views.   You can click the icon to change from the side by side view to an embedded plan view.  This is the icon to the right of Change View.  This makes wider, larger floor plans easier to see. You can move the image around for better viewing as well.   This is also available on the iPad tour.

Facebook App

At this time we have depreciated the Facebook app because of lack of use and required development changes.  If you want to post your tour to Facebook, simply copy and past the virtual tour URL to your Facebook business or personal page, add some intro text, and post.  Facebook will automatically pull back an image and some marketing text.

If you have a Facebook business page, you can then boost the post – buy a paid ad and push that out to a certain area using Facebooks ad platform.  Just know that this would be considered a “Fair Housing” special ad category, and as such, they have removed a lot of targeting capabilities, like target by job title or a speciic zip code.  You can target by a city, just not a specific zip code.

iPad Tour Updates

We just updated our iPad tour with a couple of new features.

1. Swipe on the photos.  Now you can just use your finger to swipe through images.

2. New Embed FloorPlan view.  In addition to the side by side view (photos next to floor plans), you can click the button to see a larger floor plan with photos that pop on top of the floor plan.  This enhancement will be added soon to the newer tour templates as well.

xpressdocs printing integration

We are pleased to announce we have integrated our service with xpressdocs, a leader in print marketing.  How, you can get your FloorPlanOnline property flyer commercially printed and shipped right to your door.  Plus, you can import the photos and floor plans in our system to xpressdocs, and create your own flyer using any xpressdcos template.  These include 1, 2 and 4 page flyers and brochures, or even just listed postcards.

Click Here to see our Help Video on the process.

To send your flyer to xpressdocs, just go to Manage Tours, select Edit Tour on the right under Tour Actions, and then Edit Flyer.  Go to the bottom and select Save and Download Flyer.  Once the flyer has been regenerated, you will see a new section where you can Send to Printer.  Click the button.

For first time users without an existing xpressdocs account, a new account will be created for you – just confirm the information, including your shipping address.  If your company already uses xpressdocs, their system should take you through a process to confirm you office.  If you edit your floorplanonline profile, we have added a new field for the Office ID. That should speed the process.

You are buying from xpressdocs, so you will need to add or confirm you payment information.

New Tabbed Tour Template

New Tabbed Tour Template

We recently launched our iPad tour design that is a complete re-write of our code, specifically for the iPad.  It utilizes what is called HTML5 and features a complete interactive floor plan where you can point and click your way through the property using your iPad.  If you have an iPad, just type in one of your tour links into Safari and see how it looks.  Or just use our demo house address of www.111anystreet.com.

Now, we are pleased to announce you can also use this same design as your PC/laptop tour viewer!  To select this as your tour template, just select the Tabbed Tour as your tour frame type on the form as you create a new tour, or on Edit Details for existing tours.  If you want this as your default tour frame going forward, just edit your profile and select the Tabbed Tour as your default tour frame.

To get a peak at the Tabbed Tour, click the screen shot below or click here to see how it will look.  It is similar to the iPad tour with a clean design, but for the PC, it does feature a header at the top of the tour that always shows your contact info, as well as the tour tile and address.  In addition, the content area adjusts for the user’s screen.  For example, if someone has a laptop that has a typical resolution of 1280×800, the tour adjusts to fit it.  If a user has a 23 inch 1920×1080 monitor, the tour adjusts for that size as well!  If the user’s computer or device supports Adobe’s Flash, we still show the content in flash, otherwise it does use HTML5 (like for the iPad).

Not only is the design clean and simple, it is a great solution for listings with very large floor plans as well!  The floor plan area is much larger, and because it does adjust to the screen resolution, it can make the floor plan look very large.   In addition, we are working to add another way to look at the floor plan to show it in the whole content area, with the photos popping on top of the plan, just by clicking a button on the tour.  We call this the embedded view, and we hope to add it to this view in the next month or so.

We hope you enjoy these enhancements.  As always, this view is available for all active tours.
